Proudly initiated by Tropic Co, National Prawn Day is all about celebrating prawns for their unique taste, vibrant colour, range of health benefits and all-round legendary status.

Created to educate on prawn seasonality and get us all eating more farmed tiger prawns when they are fresh, National Prawn Day will coincide with the peak period of Tropic Co prawn production and be held on the third Saturday of March EVERY year.

This year National Prawn Day falls on the 20th March and we’re hosting events across the country to help encourage every Australian to celebrate their love for prawns in ‘The Great Australian Prawn Peel Off’. With free Tropic Co Aussie Tiger Prawns up for grabs, everyone will have the chance to show off their prawn peeling skills and even more excitingly, potentially becoming a record-breaker with the Guinness World Records, yep you read that right – we’re on the hunt for the world’s fastest prawn peeler!
